Race The Streets
Race the Streets Ostrava is the season finale of the European urban motorsport championship, held at Dolní Vítkovice — a 19th-century ironworks complex turned into the most striking backdrop of the year.
Two days at the industrial heart of Ostrava: drift, stance show, and Czech Drift Series drivers competing on fresh asphalt between steel columns and blast furnaces that have stood since 1836.
The shoot ran from first light all the way through to the light and fireworks show that closed the venue out — turning the whole complex into something hard to put into words.
With a photographer's pass and full track access, cars were passing centimetres away, tyre smoke thick in the air, and the kind of atmosphere that only exists when the location, the cars, and the light all line up at once.
Dolní Vítkovice, Ostrava — the first Czech monument recognised as a European Cultural Heritage Site. Blast furnaces active from 1836 to 1998, now the stage for some of the most powerful events in Central Europe.
